Yup!

I was just thinking about Heartland Great Dane Rescue yesterday. I do their webpages and not much has been going on there for a LONG time…well it figures as soon as I think of them, this morning there would be some updates from one of their foster homes! LOL! I should think of them more often, I guess.  That ever happen to you? Think of someone and they call? Or wonder about something and then see a story about it? Its cool isn’t it?

If you live in Oklahoma and are looking for a Great Dane to adopt,  Foster Dane Abe is a wonderful choice. He has been in rescue a year next month,  but its not really anything to do with him, just a human thing. Rescue operations slowed to a crawl and he got caught on the wrong side of that. He is cute as a bug and prematurely going grey in the face, for a 5 years old fawn that is a bit soon, but not unheard of. Some say 5 is middle age for a most danes, our Phoebe is 15 years old with no sign of giving in to the boogieman. Shoot,  we didn’t even adopt her till she was 6. Plenty of life from middle age on, I say!

Anyhoo, moving on before I talk all day about Great Danes. I CAN and HAVE done this, btw. * Hoot!*

Did this layout for the DSO Quote Challenge. Its from Andrea’s Kit Love Letters on sale now for the ridiculous price of $1.00. Its a full sized kit…That’s just crazy! I guess it would be crazier if you didn’t go buy it.  Its a great kit for vintage work, well that is what I thought when I opened it.

The quote for this month…

The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart. ~ Helen Keller

…got me thinking about family, so I combined these vintage pictures of my Grandmother, Florine’s wedding reception and her Mother’s wedding. I thought it was kind of neat to see my Great-Grandmother both at her wedding ( the sit down studio photo, flowers in hair) and her daughter’s. (top picture, front) Its a circle of life combo. The bottom picture is the whole family at Florine’s reception. Though the Great Depression had reversed the family fortune, the smiling faces and the fact they were still all together show a family with unquestionable riches. At least, that is how I like to see it.

Happy Tuesday!
