Milestone

Jack just informed me he has nearly run out of clothes! This is big! The man’s closet is so stuffed full of clothes ( most days…giggle) one is reminded of more notable clothes fiends…Imelda Marcos or Nancy Reagan. For him to get down to bare hangers is …well, its only happened once before so I am not sure what it means. *Guffaw*

He almost didn’t know how to tell me, he thought he might offend me no matter how he said it.  He got it said and we laughed about it. But the lead up was pretty intense, at first,  I thought someone close to us had died.

Jack has reason to be a little tentative. I used to gauge my worth by how straight the house was. Jack may have helped me to “let the place go a bit” but he never helped me be comfortable with it. Only recently have I embraced the stellar fact there are only 24 hours in a day and some of them are for sleeping. Before this realization I spent many hours hyper-focusing on housework and chores. I would wake up at night to make notes. It was messed up! You can see now why Jack thought I might freak!

It was perfectionism run amok!

I mark this event as a true milestone. The fact that Jack could be allowed to run low on work clothes means I am comfortable.  Phew! Who’da Thunk??

Sure, its best to keep the man dressed. We don’t want the girls at work to not be able to concentrate on their paperwork and its kind of chilly in those medical buildings. * grin *

So I will pop some of his clothes into the wash today and not get all weird about what it means. Life is Good!

Challenge Tuesday!

Well I think I might be early doing this color challenge for the first time. Yeah Me!  Let me introduce you to Princess PJ!

I read an article on how we all have an inner 3 year old. A “brat” if you will. Some suggestions were to name your inner brat to better note when your being one.  This made me giggle a little, not at the notion of naming but that my now 42 year old brat still has no name. No wonder she’s pissed!

Then I read an email about how instead of your inner brat one should get to know their inner Princess or Prince.  If your inner Brat is all about you that must be improved, your inner Princess is all that needs no improvement. The best part of being 3 years old. The wonder, imagination, and sweetness. The generosity of a handful of dandelion heads squished in a sweaty palm and deposited in the hand of your mother as priceless gems! You remember now. If I am going to act three then why not the best parts??

This idea seemed a better fit for me. Finger-wagging myself for all I do that stinks sounds like a guilt trip I don’t want to take.

So I am getting to know my inner Princess.
