BajaMan Big Element Freebie!

WHoo HOO! What a glorious weekend! The rains came once again and made for a messy Saturday, but Jack wanted to shop, so off we went. I am not the shopper in the family, but Jack is SO good at it he makes it fun.

We went for a mower battery, but you know how that goes. We found cage free eggs ( yippee), giant pillows for the upstairs sofa, fresh herbs to plant, sat on new furniture and talked about it for about 2 hours! LOL! We always come down to the same thing…the pets. Its not pet friendly. So we don’t get it.  Jack sat in every recliner! LOL! That’s my recliner man! He fell in love with something called a Cuddler. Its basically a recliner for giants. We were both getting that Big Comfy Couch feeling. I think our house is too small for mammoth furniture, but Jack thinks we might risk it! Of course he does, he would sell his soul for the right recliner!!

We got that garden spot worked on Friday.

Near the beginning, another garden in the background, this one slowly takes shape. Jack’s 442 under wraps. It looked like it is going to be the centerpiece of the garden.

Saturday’s plans to finish laying out the garden went with the rain. All boys overjoyed about that! In our area dirt is scarce, only a couple inches before we hit rock, so its a raised garden or leave it grass. We will set another course of ties on top of these, secure them, then we will have dirt trucked in to fill. Growing root veggies is not something very popular around here because of the shallow soil. Might get lucky with some shorter varieties.

With that battery we bought and a quick fix for the gas tank we have both our mowers running. Helen and Murray were speeding around Sunday afternoon, making short work of the lawn. Its all neat and trim and ready for more rain…

I LOVE not having to water the garden! WhooHOO!

I took all that extra time this weekend to set up half my craft room. I still need to move the bookcase and set up the work table. But the paints, needlework and sewing goodies were boogied.

Boogie: Flylady.net term. To fling the useless, bring together like items, to give all lost items a home.

For me, getting the stuff out of boxes and out where I can see, reach and use them is HUGE!

Also this weekend, one of my website clients, Red Dirt Boxer Rescue ( Oklahoma) started their final push for their annual Hawgs For Hounds Event. It kept me pretty busy with web updates. This is super cool, and for all of us who are not motorcycle riders it sounds even more mysterious.

In a nutshell its playing poker while riding motorcycles to benefit rescued Boxer dogs.

Confused? I will try to explain…

Starting out from a local park registered riders who have paid a fee proceed to designated spots on a map. At each spot they are dealt a card. The map leads them back to the park where cash prizes for best hands are awarded.

There is also live music, vendor booths, rescue group booths, games and giveaways for non-riders at the park. Folks can bring their pets out for contests and those looking for a new pet can visit with local rescue groups who will have adoptable dogs to meet onsite.

Doesn’t this sound like oodles of fun??

Vender Booths are still available for those who wish to sell their wares.
