The Indian summer work seems never ending, but we are getting pretty giggly as we sweat through the days. Man! I have such blessings in a hubby and both boys who just love to laugh and might do anything to get one. It sure makes the work go faster. I spend a lot of time jogging to the bathroom because I am going to pee myself.
We have put our starts for the new garden in the nursery area, ( our front porch is an amazing place to grow things, must be a dome house thing??) The fruit trees have quit producing their meager fruit ( late spring frost took many blossoms) so they have all had a trim. We are feeling like we are reaching the end of the harder work. Cool temps will not arrive here until well after September, but we like to at least pretend we get FALL like everyone else in the country. My neighbors will soon emerge to tug decorations out for fall. Sweating and hoping for an early fall at the same time!
Where is my camera for all the pictures you deserve? Good question I am not taking pictures of anything because I don’t know how to do it quickly. I would just drag everything to a halt so I tucked the camera away…sorry folks.
When it gets too much and we have to cool off we move indoors.
We are decluttering and deep cleaning the kitchen this week too! I am always surprised what gets saved for canning that I really don’t need. I will save every jar even the bad ones with the goofy tops. So away to be recycled they went and bye bye to the spices that were ancient, the old lids I should have thrown away ages ago! The state plates have all come down from the walls for a wash and gone back up. The boys love hanging off the cabinets to come and go with the plates…I win the washing job by default because I am not a Jungle Jodi!! LOL!
A few months back the wind took out my double flag holders…with flags of course so I promptly bought a metal pair and even more promptly forgot completely where I stashed them! HOOT! We I am setting up my craft/sewing space so all these boxes in my closet full of goodies are now getting run out of the boxes and onto shelves where I can get at them and what was in the long ago stashed winter sock box? ( I live where it barely snows every third year and I have a winter sock box…messed up!) What is at the bottom of this box? 2 Metal Flag Holders.

So up they went today…I am issuing a formal challenge to Mother Nature to come and get my flags!! She ripped them off the house last time, now we will see what she can do! *gulp*
We are also getting our summer visit from the sugar ants. These tiny ants don’t bite often but there sure are a truckload of them getting cozy near my sink. I put out a shallow bowl of water ( outside) like the wise folks said and now we will see if the ants will stay out of the house.
