Yesterday I had a list of things to do in town starting with a Teeth Cleaning. Of course, it went a bit wacky as I was sitting in the waiting room listening to the staff have their morning meeting…which is always fun because they seem so jolly! Cool! Happy Dental Assistants!
Then I remember, I forgot to brush my teeth! Today of all days!
Short story long, I usually brush after eating, but I didn’t eat. Why I didn’t eat was because I got this new hair stuff that is suppose to reduce frizz and smooth curls even on very humid days. SO with 70% humidity expected I decide to try it out and blow dry my misbehaving hair straight. For once! I put the stuff on my damp hair, combed it straight, then used a big round brush to get the roots dry then advanced to the ends. Simple. But when I turn loose the hair from the brush 5 curls popped out instead of a nice smooth section BOING! BOING! BOING! BOING! BOING! Not deterred, I grabbed a bigger brush and took less hair…more BOINGS!
This defies the laws of science, hair, AND NATURE pull it tight, dry in place should make straight, right? When I fluffed the hair …more curls. It was gloriously NOT what I wanted. My hair was having a party and it was trashing the place! It was my regular medusa hair but with a chemical kick! One of the curls was so static it stuck to the wallpaper when I got close. Of course I am laughing my head off because everything I tried resulted in another big hair twist!
I decide to douse my head and start again. More of same, but now no curls just a big frizzed-out doo. What is this stuff??…Opposite Land in a bottle? No time to do much about it now, I grab a bun claw and twist the mess into that and out the door I fly. I pull into the parking lot of my favorite dentist…Dr. Thomas Hamilton. Then I remember the dental chair is going to dig that bun claw into my head. I don’t want to be bothered. I love just hanging out in the chair nearly falling asleep while my teeth get worked on. So I released the beast, BOING! and bravely made for the door.
The sounds of the folks having their meeting makes me happy again. They are always so joyful. Love going there! They even had a toothbrush for me and toothpaste too. Oh Happy Day! Marla was safe and when she opened my mouth to start cleaning this DID NOT happen…
Can you imagine the look on the faces of these adorable dental assistants when me and my fro bounced up to the counter to ask for a toothbrush?? It just makes me giggle remembering it!
A mix of horror and amusement! Priceless!
