Dad’s Great!
Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes for my Dad. His surgery had no complications, my mom wishes he would take his pain meds and sleep some, but other than that he is doing better than the other times. Mom is sure its all the prayers! Let’s hope this is his last surgery for a while! Please keep my mother in your thoughts and prayers, Dad without pain meds is a lot to handle. He wants to give her blow by blow directions on how to make soup from a can and pudding from the box. She has only been cooking for 50 plus years and raised 6 kids so that doesn’t smart at all, right? LOL! She asked me to pray she doesn’t haul off and smack him a good one!
HOOT!
Here’s the cute couple! Married 56 years, WOW!~

Dillon sent me to this great site on about finding what your name means in Japanese. We both thought it was very interesting and worth sharing. In a nutshell, Japanese people use a symbolic writing system ( Kanji) in which symbols stand for certain words. For the sake of communicating with the rest of the world they have created two phonetic alphabets. So to find out what your name means entails breaking your name down into the separate sounds your name makes, matching the sounds to either of the Japanese phonetic alphabets ( Katakana or Hiragana ) and then matching those sounds to the symbols that make the same sounds in Kanji.
A little complex but super awesome!
I was also thinking you could match the meaning of your name, more directly, for example. Dillon’s name is Gaelic for “Faithful and True” So searching for these symbols in Kanji might be another way to go. Not exactly finding out what your name means in Japanese more like finding kanji symbols for what your name already means, but if your name in Japanese sounds similar to the Kanji symbol for “outhouse” you might want to go match the meanings of your name and not the sounds. KWIM? * wink *
Anyhoo, when you run your name through this database you will be given 3 examples of what your name sounds like in Kanji since most symbols can have different meanings.
See it for yourself…

Please do not forget about Kim’s Candy Christmas Kit and the freebie from Monday! A lot of posts have come through since then and its a bit buried. Really versatile kit you will just love it!
Also, Loucee has done a terrific hybrid project with this kit. Its a kick! Go see how to make an Advent Calendar ( you know those count down to Christmas calendars with candy behind the little doors) Its amazing and she has a free download with instruction on how to to do it and shows some pretty detailed pictures on her blog. It will make you want to make it!! I wonderful personalized gift to make for your favorite kid of any age!! WHOO HOO!
I wish, I wish, I wish, I was as talented as LouLou and since I am wishing…she would give me her dog Roman, and I lived at her house and she would make me toast with Marmite. I made some, but I didn’t at all feel British enough. Even with my boys shouting “Marmalade” “Pip” and “Cheerio” in their fake British accents all over the kitchen. Still a no go. Its tasted good, sure, but standing next to my giant refrigerator, sucking all the energy out of the planet with Bruce Springsteen singing in the background kinda ‘mericanized it too much!
Anyway, I digress.
Go see LouCee. She will fix you up with cool stuff. She is also DSO’s Designer of the Month for a few more days and has an gorgeous kit available for only a dollar, but not for long…

I have so many more little things to say, but they will have to wait, since I have some homeschool prep to do this morning. I might be a bit scarce over then next few days. I promised my time to the Historic Cresson School for their Fall Festival so I am part of the lead up crew. I am hitting up merchants for donations the rest of today. I have a big seminar Thursday and Friday. Saturday I promised to work the Festival. Sunday I will have my regrets! LOL!
So I will pop in when I can, my sweet chickens!
