Hiya December!

December is here and cold weather finally made it to our place. The winter birds came to the feeder all day as it drizzled rain and we should get a pretty good freeze overnight. For those who are trudging through snow, please ignore me and what I think is cold weather! HOOT!

I finished my first real kit for sale. I am over the moon!! When I became a for pay designer in late September I knew the holiday push would test me and it did. I am slow. Really slow at building. I fiddle. I get ideas in the middle and go off on tangents.  I can spend all day working on a set of papers. So I knew the timing wasn’t the greatest with all my shortcomings in mind. So when half finished a Halloween Kit and then nearly finished a Thanksgiving Kit. I just knew I would have to push hard and ignore all the things I love to distract myself with to finish those last days when the kit really comes together and the hard decisions about what to keep and what just doesn’t work have to be made.

My kit is now in queue to be Quality Checked before it can be sold. DSO is pretty great about checking designer stuff its a little thing that means so much. As a buyer this was one of the things that attracted me to DSO originally. I knew before I bought the awesome goodies I saw in the previews, really would be AWESOME when I unpacked them from their zip folders.  I became so spoiled that when I went to another store I just thought everyone did it that way. Imagine my shock when I found out it was not so.

Go DSO Girls! You are teaching me right! WHOO HOO!

Thanksgiving was wonderful! We made no effort to leave home, enjoyed 4 days of co-op online computer game play and ham! LOL! It was great to pull together and kick some zombie bootie with my hubby and sons. They are pretty good at these games but it was my first time playing. Most of the time I just watch them play and its enough but this time I got to get messy and it was a bunch of fun!

We played Left 4 Dead which is a GRUESOME online shooter! I learned alot from my kids and Jack about conserving resources, ammo and health. I found out my boys are excellent teachers. I was up and crushing infected persons before I could say, “ Look Behind You!!”  The great thing is Jack and I got to do something our kids are better at and let them lead us around and share what they loved with us. It surely was not Unicorns and Rainbows making the world a better place its post apocalyptic New Orleans ( which means it looks alot like Bourbon Street on  Ash Wednesday!) and its messy, rainy, wet and oh, yeah, re-animated dead people want to kill you and nibble your parts! HOOT!

I love that we all got to play as a team and its harder than you think to do! It means knowing what your teammates are doing so you don’t blow them up or light them on fire, or shoot them too often. Its alot to focusing on. Especially when I am still so new at it I am messing up my right hand and left hand! LOL!

I got brain tired pretty quick!

Anywho that is what I did for Thanksgiving! I also moved my Treadmill into my bedroom. Having it in the same room with the computer was torturing me. I would see my computer and just get off so I could go build something or reply to email. I never stood a chance as long as my favorite machine and my least favorite were side by side. The computer is ALWAYS going to win over the treadmill!!

I would love to tell you about the December Lyric Challenge but I am running out of steam and need to get those porch plants inside and cover all the other delicates. I can tell you the good ladies at DSO have made a Challenge Blog to replace the Challenge forum Check it out! Its a great thing!  More on this tomorrow!

Nighty-Night!
