Standing Tall!
Well it took 8 days, but I am standing tall ( 5’1” 154.94cm can be tall LOL!) It took a lot of patience and I had to actually ask people to do things for me, get plenty of rest by going to bed early ( sometimes it wasn’t even dark out) and I had to let go of certain expectations, like getting the Christmas decorations out and up and letting the hairballs drift for a few days. Putting off going to the post office to keep my back indoors and warm to keep the muscles soft and moving. Cold was the enemy! Still I developed a pretty little heat rash from the heating pad, so there is such a thing as TOO much heat! Last time I had heat rash I carried those babies of mine! Ah! I remember the days when I was a huge mommy furnace!
Emphasis on the HUGE! I will have to tell that story next! You will fall down and break a hip its so funny! LOL!
It was hard to chill out and harder still to accept the set back but I ate plenty of protein, took my supplements and even with the lack of activity, I lost 5 lbs. WHOO HOO! I was reading in Oxygen ( fitness magazine) that recovering from an injury can be taxing on the body and without knowing it I was doing what I should do, supply protein to the healing body and get plenty of rest. So I guess I burned up those calories by healing? Not sure. I sure felt better after a nice long nap, so the muscle knitters were in overdrive!!
I can say with pride that I took 8 days off the treadmill and didn’t miss it at all! HOOT! I did miss my yoga and I admit to being slightly scared to go back to it. Worried about hurting my healing so I will take some more time off of it. I tell you what, when you hubby is a darlin’ but hovering about asking you how your back is, you really do want to lock yourself in a room and bend into a pretzel!
Talking about bending happy to report I can touch my toes again! WHOO HOO! Spent a long time bent half over staring at those doggies now I am back to bending and straightening again! Phew! Nice.
