Hey There YOU!

Long time no see. I have been busy making those little adjustments I promised myself I would and stealing blogging time to do it. I think I have achieved some sort of balance. So here I am again!

Hope your resolutions are going well. If not, no worries, bite off a smaller chunk. Remember be nice to yourself. You may be the only one who is today.

Here is how its going with me…

  • I resolve to drink more water. I will keep a glass, cup, jug of water within arms reach for the next 3 months.

Update: I am keeping water in arm’s reach as much as possible. Its a new thing to remember to gather up my water bottle when I walk out of the room, but I am getting less picky about the water that goes in and filling up anywhere I am…bathtub spigot water is the same as sink spigot water so I stopped running to the sink every time. HOOT!

  • I will throw out or give away all clothing that does not fit me or look good on me, including my favorite garden shoes with the holes, but not my ugly garden hats. They stay.

Getting ready to tackle this one, get a gander at this…

Taking this picture is as far as I got! LOL! But its not a race I have 3 months to work on this and the other closets. This one is first.

  • I resolve to replace some of what I get rid of a little at a time for the next 3 months with only clothing that makes me feel great!

Okay doing this a bit backwards, but Jack and I went shopping for a new dog bed over the weekend

without dogs on it, all made up. Won’t last long looking this good!! LOL !

and Kohl’s had the fluffy velour sweat suits I like on sale for a crazy low price so we bought two sets and one pair of black pants to go with both. They are beautiful, have pockets where  I want them, the jackets zip instead of go over my head which I love because I wear glasses and live in Texas where is snows in the morning and is 80 degrees in the afternoon. So no more over the head 4 times a day. I love sweat suits because they feel like jammies but I can bop out the door at a moments notice because I am… technically dressed! I like to wear little tees or “wife beaters” as an old friend in West Virginia got me calling them under the jackets so I am always ready to shed clothes when the weather changes.

I now have replacements for at least 5 things I will fling! Probably should have fling-ed  first but again this is not about being perfect its about making my life easier by getting rid of all the clutter in this closet I am not wearing and getting stuff in there I love and look great in. Whoo HOO! this resolution is on its way.

  •  I resolve to take a morning walk/run outside 3 times a week for the next 3 months. Camera optional.
  • I resolve to set study assignments for my sons during my walks so I don’t blow off a walk because I should be schooling.

Walk/Run 2K10 has yet to happen, Its 24 degrees today.  I was afraid my back would seize up at those temps. I am really a baby hiding in a desert-rat’s body. That is some pretty cold wind out there! LOL! So I stayed home and stomped the treadmill instead, but I am getting there. I found my gloves, the hat that doesn’t slide off my head when I run. I found my running socks ( extra thick) and when I get this closet cleaned out I will find my running skins. So progress but not quite success yet. Brrrrrr.

The study assignments are written waiting to be used. * grin*

  • I resolve to write only ONE sticking my nose in email a day for the next 3 months AND this one email will only include ONE piece of unsolicited advice. Period.

I have found this easier than I thought. I don’t even need to write one every day. Just knowing I can only write one puts all those emails I receive that used to send me typing a long involved email with links up the wazoo, I now just wish my friends well and send plenty of love. They don’t need my advice. Just knowing I love them and are thinking about them is all they really want. In turn I find I have plenty of time and permission to send quick thinking of you emails. They don’t say much more than that, but love is love no matter how small the note.

The best thing about this resolution is when I do send a sticking my nose in email I recognize this is my one and I send it off without expectation of it being answered or even appreciated. So I can honestly say in my heart, “do whatever with this advice” Even if that means delete without reading or read and think I am nuts. I don’t need to know if the advice was helpful anymore.

How freeing is that? WHOO HOO! Pretty freeing my friends…pretty freeing!!

  • If someone asks for my opinion all bets are off! LOL!

Only happened once so far…LOL!

  • I give myself permission to pontificate liberally on this blog! HOOT!

…and so I am.

A New Century of Hugs!
