Lyric Challenge February: Whole Lotta Love
I had this great dream about cake! I am a pie person mostly, but I am surrounded by cake men and so I try to make cake well. I have a pretty lopsided record of bombing with cake. Its sort of my fault since I am not very careful when I measure and its sort of my oven which for the last few years had no thermostat control so I had to heat it up and cool it down in weird ways to get a even bake. Never successfully I must say. Well, Jack got to fixing it a few months ago and I have been baking but still no cakes…I am afraid after all this time it really is just the cake curse and not the oven. Therefore the dreams about cake. The most amazing cakes come out of my magical oven in these wacky dreams. LOL! Lots of fun to dream them, too bad there is no dream video, you really should see these cakes! WHOOT! They belong in Whoville and most have wonderful holes straight through their middle — they come out of the oven completely frosted too, and the frosting is smooth all over with glittery bits that sparkle when the cutting and eating happens. Kind of looks like pop rocks used to feel…remember Pop Rocks?
Anyway, Sleepy Carl talked me into staying in bed an extra hour this morning just to dream another cake dream and now it Lunchtime and I am squeezing in a quick blog post before getting back to President Dwight D. and the fabulous 1950’s in our political history of the US class.
WHOLE LOTTA LOVE
I love Fats Domino. Such simple songs in the lyrics but so true and the beat makes my butt want to bounce! WHOOT! Actually the intricate piano work is what I like the most. If I listen very closely I hear some of Stephen Foster in there, just more syncopated.
SO this month Fats is giving us scrapping inspiration.
I got a whole lotta loving for you
True, true loving for you
I got a whole lotta lovin’ for you
I got a whole lotta (kiss-kiss) for you
Whole lotta (kiss-kiss) for you
I got a whole lotta kisses for you
I got a whole lotta ‘clap-clap’ to do
A whole lotta ‘clap-clap’ to do
‘Cause I’m so glad to see you
(instrumental, clapping & piano)
I got a whole lotta loving for you
True, true loving for you
I got a whole lotta lovin’ for you
I got a whole lotta (kiss-kiss) for you
A whole lotta (kiss-kiss) for you
I got a whole lotta kisses for you
I got a whole lotta ‘clap-clap’ to do
I got a whole lotta ‘clap-clap’ to do
‘Cause I’m so glad to see you
(instrumental, clapping & piano to end)
